The University purchases “Executive Assistance Services” for employees traveling overseas. “Executive Assistance Services” provides personal assistance services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, anywhere in the world, to help employees and their companions who travel overseas and have medical, legal, and/or personal emergencies. Services include hospital admission charges, medical monitoring, dispatch of a specialist, emergency medical evacuation, repatriation, repatriation of mortal remains, emergency medicine, and many other legal and professional services. Please note that this is NOT medical insurance coverage for the medical procedures and medical bills themselves – this is coverage for medical ASSISTANCE services, including repatriation. The employee must purchase medical coverage sufficient for overseas travel if you are not already covered by Penn State’s Highmark Blue Shield medical insurance, which does reimburse for medical expenses incurred worldwide (contact the Penn State Benefits Office, or Highmark, for details). If you are not covered by the Penn State Highmark Blue Shield plan, and will be traveling overseas on University business, you MUST purchase medical coverage from HTH Worldwide, available through the following web site:
